Collaborative write a team contract that specifies how your team will operate. First talk about the following:
What social computing topics interest you? What ideas do you think make for good final projects? Agree on topic to research a bit.
Decide on weekly meeting times. Team must meet outside of lecture and sections times.
Create a team folder in the Google Drive and decide how to organize your team's materials.
Agree on a team manager charged with making things happen—facilitating meetings, providing team materials, wrangling technology, dividing work, etc. You can rotate this job—or not.
Perform process checks, as often as every meeting, to keep the team healthy.
Arrange methods for remote participation if necessary.
Specify desired individual behaviors, e.g.
Attending meetings on time
Working hard
Respecting and helping others
Reading the text and assignment before starting to work
1. Meet, learn about each other, share expectations with one another. Select an initial team name and write a one-page contract that specifies some of the details above.
2. Create a team folder in class Google Drive folder. Choose an informative name and append your own last names, (ie., Topic_Lastname1_Lastname2_Lastname3; e.g. Movies_Dow_Palani_Prashant_Wong_Zhang).
